I hope you can shake off the illness, Lucy. It saps strength for sure. With so much going on in your life journalling seems to be a good way of coping and managing. I don't use a journal myself now but I remember when I was a teenager I regularly wrote in a diary and it really helped me sort out my feelings.

I'm so pleased you had a good meeting at the hospice. Very best wishes for the coming days.

Thanks Yasmin - much appreciated. I've journalled (is that a word!?) on and off over the years - always have a notebook on me - it's an intrinsic part of my writing process, and yes, at the moment particularly useful and helpful. I've got stacks of journals which have ideas, fragments of writing, first drafts etc which go back years, right back to when I started singing in bands aged 16. Back then though writing was quite often scribbling down ideas on the back of bus tickets with eyeliner! Thanks re the hospice - tough learning curve but every day with Dad is a gift and I feel like we are in a much better place now re his care.
