Circling Back
in the pink
Can you believe we are heading towards the Spring Equinox already? I can’t – and I can’t believe this is my first post of the year either! It has been a blur of work, walking and a substantial and mostly overwhelming amount of bureaucratic and legal paperwork related to my son’s EHCP and school place.
(I mention here as it remains a massive challenge, so if you haven’t heard from me this is mainly why – if you are interested in knowing more in general about about the current situation regarding SEN and EHCPs (without getting into the recent White Paper) click here
In the meantime…
In December and January I went back repeatedly to my most-visited labyrinth last year, Fen Court Garden, in the City of London, including a labyrinth walk on the Winter Solstice, which became a piece of walking art and a poem, and was included as part of one of Kel Portman’s curated films, featuring fantastic work by an international array of walking artists. You can watch this below:
I also finally got to visit another, much smaller and quite different labyrinth, not too far from Fen Court, which had eluded me for most of last year as the church yard in which it resides is often locked. But I finally got to see it in early January and it’s a beauty.
At the end of January I signed on for a refresher of the Veriditas Labyrinth Facilitator training, which took place online over the course of five days. It was a lovely group of people, mostly in the US with a couple of us Europeans thrown in for good measure. I’m so glad I did the refresher, I had attended the same training back in 2024 but there was so much happening at that time that I hadn’t had a chance to do anything with it.
This time has been different – I felt I was able to engage much more with the course itself, which has tonnes to offer, and be present in a way I wasn’t able to after losing my Dad back in 2024. During one of the training sessions over Zoom I also took everyone through a finger / handheld labyrinth walk for the first time and it was a lovely experience!
I’ve just run a couple of small writing workshops online for the first time in nearly three years, and it has been really wonderful to get back to this- and re-connect with some lovely folk who have come along to workshops, either in-person or online in the past. These were an opportunity to try out some finger labyrinth walks and also to begin the evaluation process for becoming a Certified labyrinth facilitator from Veriditas, following becoming an officially ‘Trained’ labyrinth facilitator.
It’s been a long time coming – but I’m delighted to say there will be more workshops via Zoom on Sunday evenings – finally Setting Sundays is happening. I am also now planning in-person writing workshops and labyrinth walks – coming soon – and hopefully in time for this year’s World Labyrinth Day which takes place on Saturday 2nd May.

I hope the sun is shining for you wherever you are
